By Rosemary Wells
Yoko has learned to write her name perfectly, but when she goes to school all the children make fun of her for "scribbling." Yoko has learned to write her name in Japanese -- something the class has never seen before. Soon, however, after a friend wants to know about this "secret" language, the whole class starts practicing writng in two languages.
This is a great book for teaching about new cultures and the beauty of being different.
